Selling a Medical Practice

< >

Practices can sell but not every one of it may be as easy to sell as easy as it sounds and also some physicians do not know the proper way of selling medical practice. It is usually hard on physicians new to an area to sell their practice, but it is possible when they consider some practice selling skills and tips given below. They must plan ahead: physicians should never wake up one day and decide to sell their practice because there is likelihood that they will have no choice but sell on ‘throw away’ or ‘fire sale’ price if the practice makes to sell in the first place.

Planning ahead such as three years to come will not be too much, this way; they may get a ‘Cross-purchase’ form of agreement with someone or even a colleague if they use the life insurance scheme as their source of finances. Prior to sale, increase productivity: they should never despair or lose hope with the practice but ensure that they get the best out of it during the period they have planned to sell. If they have planned to sell it in three years’ time, then they must make the best in the practice before they put their medical practice for sale. Let the plan be a secret: They should never tell anyone about the sale because it will attract negative attention affecting the whole practice and its value. It should not be revealed to staff or patients until the right time for the healthcare news.
