An Inside Look at the Corporate Side of Venture Capital
Featuring John O’Donohue,
Managing Director, Motorola Ventures
Hosted
by Cooley Godward
Kronish
1114 Avenue of
the Americas, NY, NY
Corporate Venturing is a strong business driver when applied
consistently and in a very focused manner. Motorola Ventures
has been an active corporate investor over the last 7 years,
investing over $350M globally. Our program will cover the
context of the venture program and its role as part of the
corporate strategy, as well as how it compliments and
enhances internal innovation. Attendees should also expect
to see an outline of what works, what doesn't work, and
where conflicts arise with existing investors. A comparison
of the Motorola model will be made with other corporate
venture models. Exit scenarios and where M&A fits with
corporate venturing will also be discussed.
Mr.
O’Donohue will also comment on some of the broader venture
trends both in investment direction and some of the
geographic differences, and from the “Motorola perspective,”
will detail some of the interesting strategic technology
areas they will focus on going forward. |
