An Evening with
Art Laffer
Hosted
at
Bloomberg
Headquarters
731 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY
|
Now that the
Democrats have seized control of both the
House and the Senate, the murmur of concern
over what this means to pro-growth and other
key economic legislative initiatives is
growing, but where its impact will be felt
first (or most) remains unclear.
On November
29th, Bloomberg Headquarters in
New York will be the site of the VIANY Gala
Event:
“An Evening with Art
Laffer.” A long time
leader in economic and investment research,
Mr. Laffer will
share his tremendous insight, in his
wonderfully candid, witty and engaging
style, on this and other ramifications the
recent election cycle is expected to have on
the New York and global investment
communities.
This VIANY
Gala Event is not open to the public, and
those wishing to attend should be a member
of VIANY or an invited guest of one of our
members. If you would like to attend,
please call VIANY at (866) 842-6968 or
simply
Seating
for this event is very limited and
registration may close early, so please
register today.

"Exit Strategies in the New World
of a
Privatized Capital
Market"
|
The dynamics of the
US public capital market have dramatically changed
over the last several years. Following the
steep decline in the global capital markets five
years ago and the resulting investor distrust, fewer
private companies have the ability to tap the US
equity markets as investors have demanded stronger
and more proven financial performance.
Adding fuel to the fire, a more burdensome
regulatory environment (Sarbanes Oxley, etc) has
significantly increased the costs of being a public
company while making it less palatable for
entrepreneurs. The result is a dramatic fall off in
IPOs since the mid 1990s. At the same time, there
has also been dramatic growth in private capital
(hedge funds, late stage private equity, etc.)
which, in many cases, has taken the place of the
public market by offering viable exit alternatives
to private companies.
On November 8th, our panel explores some of the
fundamental causes of the new landscape and
discusses the range of newer exit alternatives that
private companies have in a changed environment.
